4 OF MY FAVOURITE IMAGES OF A #HYGGE LIFESTYLE ON PINTEREST THIS WEEK…

Here are 4 of my favourite images of a #hygge lifestyle on Pinterest this week…

Being prone to bouts of depression, my friend Lynda and I have embarked on a bit of a personal development journey together this year to maintain our wellness, mindfulness and positivity, and look after each other.  We regularly send each other little gifts in the post, meet up for coffee, and

Those cold winter nights call for an evening by the fire...

Love the two pairs of boots next to the fire from The Londonor on Pinterest

This basket is perfect for homes with more compact fireplaces and will hold enough logs for a whole night snuggled by the fire - very hygge. It's also ideal for laundry, toys or towels. Find more hygge decor inspiration at housebeautiful.co.uk

Nothing makes me think more of Autumn than a bag of logs by the fire like these from House Beautiful on Pinterest.

IMAGES OF A QUICK VISIT TO COPENHAGEN, SKAGEN AND OSLO…

We recently had a week’s cruise visiting Copenhagen and Skagen in Denmark, plus Oslo in Norway. Each stop left me with some beautiful images that I wanted to share on this blog.

From the famous Little Mermaid to the mass of cyclists and the massive amount of wind farms across the bay, it was all a beauty I will remember well in Copenhagen.

Skagen was pretty and lots of yellow houses and white windows with trendy restaurants and interior gifts to buy. Although very expensive it was well worth visiting.

Oslo to me was the icing on the cake and although a rather damp and dull day it did not dampen the visit. Looking quite autumnal with lots of leaves on the floor and rugs on chairs it. With trolls so famous in the area and in most shop windows, it brought back memories of younger years. The journey from the harbour out to see was absolutely beautiful with little islands and painted houses which seemed to go on forever.

We loved our visit to Denmark and Norway and I hope to return again soon.

BEAUTIFUL BEDROOMS THE HYGGE WAY…

Traditional Otomi designs have also been used on other products, including the Hygge & West Otomi wallpaper shown here.

This large framed print of a fox is the star of this Atlanta bedroom designed by Rethink Design Studio. The white background of the print creates enough blank space to allow for a bold wallpaper to adorn the wall without looking too jumbled. Wallpaper: Triangles, Hygge & West.

ONLING THE ULTIMATE DANISH HYGGE CLOTHING…

Onling, the ultimate Danish Hygge clothing is an online shop full to the brim of all you would embrace in Hygge wear.

Knitting atmosphere with yarn, needles and zippers

You immediately think natural exquisite materials which make you look and feel great.

Not only do they sell clothes but they also sell wool and run workshops and events ( although not very local for us Brits).

One particular class which has totally sold out and caught my eye was ‘knitting class for experienced knitters, learn to read English patterns’.

Onling say “We believe that the fashion industry needs to change by producing better products that last longer and are environmentally friendly.

At Önling we select fabrics that leave the smallest possible impact on the environment, as we know that a piece of clothing will not stand a chance of becoming the modern consumer’s favorite, if it is not responsibly produced.

We select the best, natural fabrics for our clothes. We only use organic cotton, we buy left-over fabrics – called deadstock – from other brands, and we incorporate sustainable fabrics like bamboo, Lyocell and fish leather into our limited collections. We only produce 200 pieces of each style, which means that you will get a unique product, when you buy Önling.

In addition to that, we have completely avoided plastic in our packaging, as we do not want to add to the plastic islands floating around in the pacific ocean. All our products are wrapped in recycled paper bags and even though this might sound like small thing, for us it is big. We have saved the environment for 70.000 polybags by now, and we are proud to take on this responsibility.”.

Lets hope others follow this lead and become as environmentally friendly as Onling.
